Therefore, while designing
the map interface it was crucial to keep in mind user friendliness and clarity
in illustration. The uCampus map was generated in Adobe Illustrator and
then exported as the Scalable Vector Graphic (SVG) format to be overlaid
on top of a GIF image depicting the larger urban region. Our experience
shows that the SVG engine provided by the SVG Salamender Project was

particularly suited to drive uCampus’s small size interactive map (Architectural Computing)

Earth Friendly Concrete (EFC) is a Wagners brand name for their commercial form of geopolymer concrete, which the 33 precast floor beams in the new GCI building are made from. Comprising sand, aggregate and a binder that contains ground granulated blast furnace slag, a waste product from steel production, and fly ash, a waste product from coal fired power generation, EFC contains no normal Portland cement. This allows it to have very low CO2 emissions as compared to normal Portland cement-based concrete. The precast panels with cast in hydronic pipes also play an integral part of the building's low energy and passive cooling modes. (Architectral Engineering)

When a place is a result of nature and time, it is a frame of nature. When a form is made by architectonic ideas, it is architecture. The, architecture and nature, are the frames of each other; they contrast and compromise each of their own essences.

-Overview of the site (day)-

 -Overview of the site (night)-

 -Architectonic-
Developed forms are put together to convey the idea of function driven shape. This monument is jointed and support by Mortise and Tenon. Light and dark textures are used and divided between faces of the monument; in reference to the idea of form being determined by purpose and reasons.

- A Frame of Nature-
A place (a monument) being the product of nature and time. Growth and organic shapes are the essence of nature, they are both echoed through the organic shape of this monument. Medium texture in curved form resonates the impression of nature, further demonstrating the monument being a frame (a vessel) that contains nature's characteristic.

-The Bridge-
Serving as the joint of two concepts and a gathering point. Elements of both monuments are reflected and merged into a meeting place of two contrasting style - reinforcing the relationship between architectonic and architecture being a frame of nature.
